One-Sided Cling Machine Stretch Film

Yuhong One-Sided Cling Machine Stretch Film is designed for automated wrapping lines, high-density storage, tightly stacked pallets, and loads that overhang the pallet edges. Manufactured using a multi-layer co-extrusion process, the film features self-adhesion on the inner side to secure the load and bond the film layers, while the outer side is low-tack or non-tacky; this minimizes adhesion between adjacent pallets, equipment components, or stacked loads, thereby facilitating handling and unpacking.

Yuhong, since 2008, has been a professional factory of one-sided cling machine stretch film. By using multi-layer co-extrusion process, the cling side of the film adheres to the surface of the load, preventing slippage between the wrapped layers.

And the non-cling side has very low tack, the film does not stick to itself, so the packaging, handling, and subsequent unwrapping will be easier.

What Are the Advantages of single cling machine film?

Compared to standard stretch film, single-sided machine stretch wrap represents an upgraded solution; to understand the key advantages, here are a few comparisons:

Traditional double-sided adhesive film

Single-sided adhesive film

Adjacent pallets stick together during forklift handling or tight stacking; forcibly separating them can cause the film to tear.

The outer surface is smooth and has very low tack, allowing pallets to slide apart easily without interfering with one another.

Forcibly pulling apart the adhered film generates immense tension, potentially causing edge-positioned goods to tilt or collapse, or damaging the outer packaging.

It eliminates the need for forceful pulling during separation, thereby reducing the risk of cargo damage and secondary packaging costs.

When goods overhang the pallet edges, the tacky outer surface easily adheres to the bottom of the pallet stacked above it.

The outer surface remains non-sticky even when the cargo overhangs the pallet.

If your warehouse space is limited, pallets need to be placed close together, or your goods often extend beyond the pallet edges, single cling pallet film is a better choice to reduce damage and improve handling efficiency.

Application Areas

● High-density warehousing and logistics centers: Suitable for scenarios where pallets are stacked tightly or shuttle racking systems are used, leaving no clearance between pallets.

● Packaging with overhang: For irregularly shaped goods or items with a footprint larger than the pallet base, the use of one-sided adhesive machine wrap prevents the outer adhesive surface from sticking to adjacent goods or equipment.

● Heavy-duty construction materials and chemicals: Items such as cement bags, fertilizers, and large machinery parts; film adhesion in these cases could destabilize the load's center of gravity.

● Automated packaging lines: Designed for use with high-speed stretch wrapping machines.

Usage Recommendations

1. Pay attention to orientation

One-sided adhesive machine wrap is designed to be tacky on the inside and smooth on the outside. Rub both sides of the film with your fingers; the side that feels tacky is the inner side. When threading the film, the tacky side must face the load, while the smooth side faces outward.

It is recommended to first check the arrow indicator inside the paper core and follow the threading diagram provided in the stretch wrapping machine's manual.

2. Adjust for appropriate overlap width

During the machine's vertical reciprocating wrap cycle, it is recommended to maintain an overlap of 30%–50% between the layers of film.

Since the film is tacky on only one side, sufficient overlap is essential to ensure the layers self-adhere and lock securely together.

Guide to Avoiding Common Pitfalls

Pitfall 1: Blindly Pursuing Thickness

Misconception: Buying the thickest film available, regardless of the specific application.

Reality: Thickness does not equate to strength. Films made from inferior recycled materials often exhibit low stretchability and are prone to snapping, even at 30μm.

Yuhong's products, when pre-stretched by 300%, offer load retention and puncture resistance compared to thick, low-quality films.

Pitfall 2: Confusing Hand-Grade and Machine-Grade Films

Misconception: Loading hand-grade film directly onto an automatic stretch wrapping machine.

Reality: Hand-grade films often have uneven roll ends and loose core tolerances; directly using them on machines will lead to film breakage and equipment jams.

Pitfall 3: Ignoring the Risks of Load Overhang

Misconception: Still using standard double-sided cling film when the load overhangs the pallet edges.

Reality: Double-sided cling film that overhangs the load can easily stick to the pallet below; the force required to separate them during forklift handling can cause the film to tear and the load to collapse. Single sided machine stretch wrap is necessary in such scenarios.

Pitfall 4: Focusing Only on Unit Price, Ignoring Net Weight and Tolerances

Misconception: Simply choosing the cheapest supplier.

Reality: Unscrupulous vendors cut costs by supplying film that is thinner than specified or underweight.

Upon receipt, verify specifications by measuring thickness at multiple points with a micrometer and weighing the roll (subtracting the core weight) to confirm net weight. Our machine-grade films maintain a tolerance of ≤±2%, ensuring high consistency.

Yuhong Quality Management

Yuhong is an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer with over a decade of experience. Our products come with SGS and EU RoHS test reports and have received certifications for performance, material safety, and hazardous substance compliance from GALAB Laboratory (Germany).

Every batch of one-sided cling machine stretch film undergoes performance testing prior to shipment. These tests cover thickness, tensile strength, elongation, self-adhesion, puncture resistance, and aging characteristics, with a specific focus on single-sided adhesion properties and the surface characteristics of both sides; comprehensive test reports are available upon request.

FAQ

Q: Why does my stretch film tend to loosen after wrapping?

A: There could be several reasons; consider checking the following:

1. Mismatched film specifications: Incorrect film thickness or tensile strength selected.

2. Improper wrapping parameters: Insufficient tension, inadequate number of wrapping layers, or an unsuitable pre-stretch ratio.

Q: How should I choose the thickness for one-sided cling machine stretch film?

A: The choice of thickness depends primarily on the cargo weight, shape, transport distance, and wrapping method.

Recommendations:

Lightweight cartons: Thinner specifications are suitable.

Standard palletized goods: Medium thickness is appropriate.

Heavy or sharp-edged products: Higher-strength specifications are required.

However, also consider stretchability, puncture resistance, and load retention when making your selection.

Q: What information should I provide when purchasing?

A: To ensure the right product specifications, it is recommended to provide:

Product information: Weight, dimensions, and shape.

Wrapping information: Manual or machine wrapping, wrapping machine model, and daily wrapping volume.

Performance requirements: High load retention, puncture resistance, or special color/printing needs.
